Creating a consistent visual language through modular illustrations

Designing illustrations that scale across a product

I created a flexible illustration style that could be used across different parts of a product, from onboarding to empty states and feature highlights.

The goal was to keep the style consistent, while allowing enough variation for different contexts.

Approach

Building from simple shapes to a modular system

Instead of designing illustrations individually, I built a system based on:

reusable shapes and components
a limited and consistent color palette
clear rules for composition and style

This made it easy to create new illustrations without starting from scratch.

All elements can be combined to create different scenes while maintaining a consistent look and feel.
