Van Dirk Hout creates handcrafted wooden objects where craftsmanship and natural materials take centre stage. The challenge was to develop a visual identity that feels authentic and refined while reflecting the character of the maker behind the brand.

The result is a brand system inspired by wood textures, natural landscapes and the imperfections that make every piece unique.

Defining the right tone through different directions

To explore the visual direction of the brand, several concepts were developed. Each direction approached craftsmanship and authenticity from a different perspective, ranging from modern minimalism to more expressive and personal executions.

Through these explorations, a clear balance emerged between professionalism, warmth and character, helping define the foundation of the final identity.
